Powell Municipal Airport

JB Drilling provided solid-stem auger drilling and coring services to support the investigation to reconstruct the runway at the Powell Municipal Airport (POY) in Powell, Wyoming. Intact asphalt cores of the runway were obtained to evaluate the existing asphalt conditions.

JB Drilling provided hollow-stem auger drilling next to the North Platte River down to competent bedrock (~50 feet).  Difficult drilling conditions included groundwater, flowing sands and cobbles.

JB Drilling provided hollow-stem auger drilling to 85 feet to support the engineering design for a new meter station and HDD crossing of a pipeline. Difficult drilling conditions included cemented lenses and siltstone bedrock.
